Programs — step-by-step paths

How multi-step programs unlock, complete, and award credentials.

A program is an ordered path of steps — courses, documents, forms, and proofs. Open one from Learn → Programs in progress.

Starting

New assignments show a Start program button. The header shows your progress — for example · 60% complete — and, when the program issues a credential, Earns: {credential name}.

Steps and locking

Each step shows its type (Course, Document, Form, or Proof) and whether it is Required or Optional.

  • Steps unlock in order: a step is Locked until every *required* step before it is done. Locked steps show a disabled Locked button.
  • Optional steps never block later steps.
  • Finished steps show a Done badge and a Review button; open steps show Open.

How each step completes

Step Counts as done when
Course You complete the course
Document You acknowledge the current published version
Form Your submission is approved
Proof Your proof attempt passes

Note that document and form steps track the *current* version and approval state — if a document is republished, or a form submission is sent back, the step reopens until you acknowledge or resubmit.

Finishing

When every required step is done, the program completes. If it issues a credential, the credential is added to your wallet automatically — see Credentials wallet.

If a program looks empty or unavailable

  • No steps yet — the author has not added steps; ask your manager.
  • Program unavailable — *"This program may be unpublished or you don't have access."* Confirm the workspace under Settings → Workspaces, then ask your admin.
