Quizzes and knowledge checks
Graded quizzes, question types, pass scores, and attempt limits.
Mentor has two kinds of questions, and the builder keeps them deliberately separate:
- Knowledge check blocks inside lessons — ungraded practice with instant feedback and an optional explanation. They never affect completion.
- Quiz modules — graded assessments with a pass score. The learner's module only completes when they pass.
The quiz builder
Add a Quiz module, then open it. The Quiz builder panel — *"Graded questions with a pass score — separate from ungraded knowledge checks in lessons."* — has:
- Quiz title — for example *Shift lead check*
- Pass % — 0 to 100; new quizzes default to 70
- Attempts — leave blank for unlimited (shown as ∞), or set a cap. When learners hit the cap they see Max attempts reached.
- Shuffle question order — randomizes question order per attempt
Question types
| Type | Notes |
|---|---|
| Multiple choice | One correct answer; click the circle to mark it. Minimum two options. |
| Multi-select | Multiple correct answers |
| True / false | Two fixed options |
| Matching | Learners match left → right; right-side answers are shuffled at attempt time. Minimum two pairs. |
| Short text | Learner types the answer; graded against your accepted answer, exact but case-insensitive |
Choose Add question to append, Remove to delete (a quiz keeps at least one question), and Save quiz when done.
Generate from a lesson
In the Inspector sidebar for a quiz, Make quiz from lesson drafts questions from the current lesson's content — review and edit before publishing.
What learners experience
Learners answer and Submit, then see Score {n}% — Passed or Score {n}% — Not passed. They can retry until they pass or hit the attempt cap. See Inside the course player.
