Studio

The course builder

Modules, lessons, blocks, and the inspector — full anatomy.

Open Studio → Courses → your course (Open builder). The builder has three columns: the Modules outline on the left, the canvas in the middle, and the Inspector on the right.

Modules

A course is an ordered list of modules. Choose + Add module to add a Lesson, Quiz, Form, or Proof:

  • Lesson — a canvas of content blocks (see below)
  • Quiz — a graded assessment; see Quizzes and knowledge checks
  • Form — embeds a *published* form as a course step. If none exist yet: *"Publish a form in Studio → Forms first, then add it here."*
  • Proof — embeds a *published* proof gate. The step completes when the learner's proof passes.

Drag modules to reorder. The first time you open an empty course you will see Start with a lesson — choose Add first lesson to scaffold Lesson 1.

Blocks

Lessons are stacks of blocks. Choose a block in the canvas to edit it in the Inspector; Add a block opens the visual template picker with categories Sections, Text, Media, Interactive, and Checks.

Block What it does
Text / Heading Body copy and section headings (H1–H3)
Image Image with required alt text and optional caption
Video Video with optional captions (VTT) file
Embed External embed by URL
Callout Highlighted note with a tone — Info, Tip, Warning, Danger
List Bulleted or numbered list
Divider Visual separator
Continue gate Hides everything after it until the learner clicks the button (sequential courses)
Accordion / Tabs Collapsible or tabbed content panels
Flashcards Flip cards, front and back
Labeled graphic Image with positioned hotspot labels
Timeline Ordered items with optional date labels
Knowledge check Ungraded practice question with an optional explanation
Form Inline published form; can require submit before later blocks
SCORM An imported SCORM package (created by import — see Import a SCORM package)

The Inspector moves blocks up and down (↑ Block / ↓ Block), removes them, and edits per-type fields. Image blocks require alt text — you will see *"Alt text is required for accessibility."* if it is missing. Text and callout blocks offer Improve with AI.

Navigation setting

Under the course settings, Navigation chooses Sequential (learners finish modules in order — the default) or Free navigation. Choose Save settings to apply. Sequential courses also enforce Continue gates inside lessons.

Stakeholder review

After publishing, Copy review link copies the learner player URL so reviewers can see exactly what learners see — reviewers view the live published revision, not your draft edits.

Titles and limits

Course and lesson titles are capped at 200 characters. Publishing requires at least one module — the Publish button stays disabled until then.
