Studio
Studio overview
Authoring console for content, Forge, reports, and settings.
Studio lives at studio.mentorhq.com. It is where content gets built, published, and assigned — and where readiness reports live.
The left nav
Nav items appear based on your permissions and feature flags:
| Item | Who sees it |
|---|---|
| Home | Everyone with Studio access |
| Courses / Programs / Documents | Anyone with content read, write, or publish permission |
| Proof | Content write/publish, or proof reviewers |
| Forms | Content read/write, or form approvers |
| Forge | Only when Forge is enabled for your organization, plus a Forge permission |
| Reports | Reports read or assignment manage permission |
| Settings | Settings or people permissions |
If you can sign in but hold no Studio-relevant permission, Studio Home shows Studio is for admins & L&D — *"Your role can learn and complete work in the learner app, but not author content or manage the org here."* — with an Open learner app button. See Cannot open Studio for fixing access.
What lives where
- Courses — build natively or import SCORM; see Courses and The course builder
- Programs — ordered paths mixing courses, documents, forms, and proof gates
- Documents — versioned controlled documents with acknowledgement tracking
- Forms — schema-driven ops forms with optional approval
- Proof — capabilities, rubrics, and proof gates
- Forge — turn source material into draft learning packages
- Reports — readiness, risks, and program funnels (see Readiness reports)
- Settings — seats, catalog storefront, mode, and integrations
People, locations, and organization branding are managed in the learner app Admin, not Studio.
